PHOENIX –  A Tennessee-based keyboard technology company has purchased a 74,000-square-foot industrial building in Chandler, the city announced on Monday.

Mechanical Keyboards, one of the largest providers of mechanical keyboards in the world, purchased a facility that will host 40 employees, according to a press release.

“We’re thrilled to open MK’s first major expansion in Chandler, Arizona,” Joel Tubre, president of Mechanical Keyboards, said in the release. “We have begun buildout of the facility and have some exciting plans. Our products look great online, but they feel and look even better in person.”

The new Mechanical Keyboards property has nearly 33,000-square-feet of office space and more than 240 parking spaces.

Along with keyboard distribution, Mechanical Keyboards has a plan to include a showroom, office space for technology and entrepreneurial startups, tech event hosting and unique facilities to support E-sports athletes and content creators.

“Chandler has been very supportive, and we’re really looking forward to showing customers in Phoenix Metro and the surrounding areas just how awesome these keyboards are in the new showroom,” Tubre said.

The keyboard company stated that workforce and freeway access were determining factors when purchasing the facility.

“Mechanical Keyboards’ expansion into Chandler is yet another win for the East Valley and creates quality jobs for the residents of Greater Phoenix,” Chris Camacho, president & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, said.

The company first launched in 2012 and has been a one-stop-shop for all things mechanical keyboards and features a catalog of over 3,000 keyboard options.

“It has been a pleasure working with Chandler’s Economic Development team to reposition this property and further activate this exciting employment corridor,” Jay Donkersloot, local investor and previous owner of the property, said.
