PHOENIX — A brush fire forced the evacuation of the 500 Club Golf Course in Glendale on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Firefighters from multiple agencies battled the blaze near 43rd Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road for about three hours before containing it at about 3 p.m., Phoenix Fire said in an email.

A total of about 45 acres was burned and no structures were damaged.

Initial reports say the cause of the fire possibly came from a spark off a worker’s welding torch.
