First lady Jill Biden to visit Navajo Nation in Arizona this week

PHOENIX – First lady Jill Biden will be in Arizona this week to visit the capital of Navajo Nation.

The wife of President Joe Biden will be in Window Rock in eastern Arizona on Thursday and Friday, her office announced Saturday.

Biden will meet Thursday with Navajo President Jonathan Nez and First Lady Phefelia Nez before delivering a radio address.

She’s scheduled to attend a listening session Friday with Navajo students before taking a tour of a vaccination site.

“We are looking forward to hosting her and her team,” Nez tweeted.

Nez called the Biden-Harris administration “a key partner in our response to COVID-19.”

Most of Navajo Nation’s territory is in Arizona, but it spans across the Utah and New Mexico borders.

Before arriving in the Grand Canyon State, the first lady will stop Wednesday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
