Silver Alert canceled after missing 73-year-old Scottsdale man found safe

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled Monday evening after a missing 73-year-old Scottsdale man was found safe in Mexico, according to authorities.

John Heggblom was transferred back to the United States where was taken to an area hospital as a precaution and to be reunited with family members.

Heggblom left his home near 65th and Monterosa streets in Scottsdale around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

He suffers from dementia and a heart condition.
