Black Rock Coffee Bar opening 3 additional Valley locations

PHOENIX — Java enthusiasts in the Valley will soon have three additional coffee shops to visit in the coming weeks.

That’s because Oregon-based coffee chain Black Rock Coffee Bar is adding three more stores in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe, the company announced in a press release on Thursday.

The company, which has 18 locations in Arizona, already opened one of its three new Valley locations on March 5 near the intersection of Tatum Boulevard and Thunderbird Road in Phoenix.

The chain also opened a store near Broadway Road and Cutler Drive in Tempe that started welcoming customers on Friday.

The third new Black Rock location will be on 90th Street near Loop 101 in Scottsdale. That location is scheduled to open in April.

“After the northwest, Phoenix, Arizona is our second-largest market,” Jeff Hernandez, co-founder and executive chairman of Black Rock Coffee Bar said in the release.

“It really comes down to the feel of the place – and we were drawn to Phoenix from the start. We feel we have established an authentic connection to the community.”

Black Rock was founded in Oregon in 2008 and has 81 locations in seven states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
