Phoenix police arrest woman in fatal shooting of boyfriend

PHOENIX – Police in Phoenix arrested a woman accused in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend over the weekend.

Maureen Wahl, 23, was taken into custody at the scene near 16th Street and Thomas Road. She faces one count of homicide, authorities said.

A Phoenix Police Department spokeswoman said they had received a call Saturday shortly before 10 p.m. from someone reporting a gunshot.

Officers arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound and Wahl still there.

First responders pronounced the man, whose name has not been released, dead.
