Soccer player tosses grenade off field

Talk about a close call.

During Wednesday night’s AFC Champions League match between Sepahan (Iran) and Al-Ahli (Saudi Arabia), things got quite testy inside Foolad Shahr Stadium.

Throughout the quarterfinal leg, fans poured debris on to the pitch, including of all things a mini granade — which exploded on impact. Without hesitation, Sepahan midefield Adel Kolahkaj picked up the hazardous object and threw it off the playing field. No one was hurt.
