PHOENIX – If you’re looking to take a day trip on Monday, Arizona State Parks might have you covered.

The state parks system will offer free admission to more than 30 parks in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Admission into the state parks is free for Arizona residents who show a valid state ID upon entry.

“Visiting an Arizona State Park is one of the best ways to get outside and explore all that Arizona has to offer,” Gov. Doug Ducey said in a release.

The parks system said fees will still apply for certain attractions, such as cave tours at Kartchner Caverns State Park, other tours, camping, special events and concessions.

Additionally, capacity at parks is limited to encourage social distancing so visitors are encouraged to arrive early or call ahead.

The Arizona State Parks has a complete list of eligible parks and natural areas on its website to help plan ahead.

We want to hear from you.
