PHOENIX — A new comprehensive sports medicine center will be coming to Scottsdale in 2022.

Banner Health announced on Monday that it will build an 80,000-square-foot facility along Loop 101 at Indian Bend Road/Talking Stick Way on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land.

The three-story sports medicine center is scheduled to open in late 2022 and will cost $54 million.

The facility is designed to provide both professional and amateur athletes of all ages with sports-related medical care, athletic performance training, recovery and prevention.

Specific services will include: orthopedics and sports medicine, a surgery center, physical therapy, imaging, concussion center, performance training, nutrition and sports psychology.

“Athletes have unique needs related to their fitness training, injury prevention and injury recovery. They require specialized and focused care, which we are dedicated to providing in a convenient location,” Dr. Evan Lederman, head of Banner’s Orthopedic Sports Medicine program said in a press release.

“We are very excited to develop this facility to anchor our sports medicine services in Arizona, where athletes of all ages will benefit from our ability to provide comprehensive sports medicine care.”
