Some Arizonans questioning vote change ahead of Election Day

PHOENIX – Arizonans are curious about whether they can change their votes if they vote early, according to Google Trends.

Arizona voters registered for early ballots had roughly a month to make decisions before Election Day on Tuesday.

With the extra time, delayed presidential debates and continued campaign visits leading up to the big day, Google says some Arizona voters may want to change their vote.

Those voters unfortunately cannot make changes to their ballots.

“Arizona doesn’t allow second-chance voting, so once you’ve returned your ballot then you’ve already cast your vote,” Erika Flores with the Maricopa County Elections Department told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Tuesday.

With that, any voter who does have an early ballot that has not sent it back yet does have a chance to change their vote in the event they already filled in their bubbles.

Flores described a situation involving a voter who had received a ballot by mail but changed their mind.

“You can go vote in person, you can do that as long as you have not returned your early ballot to us yet,” Flores said.

If a voter chooses to go into a polling location to vote in person, identification will be required to complete the vote and the early mail-in ballot will then be voided.
