Police investigating after infant found dead in south Phoenix

Police are investigating after an infant was found dead in south Phoenix on Thursday afternoon.

PHOENIX — Police are investigating after an infant was found dead in south Phoenix on Thursday afternoon.

Phoenix police said they located the baby boy’s body behind a business in a strip mall near 35th Avenue and Baseline Road at about 1 p.m.

The baby was not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is underway.

Police are particularly interested in hearing about women who were pregnant and no longer are and don’t seem to be mothering a baby.

No other information was immediately available.
