Police seeking suspect in social club shooting that left 1 woman dead

PHOENIX — A 29-year-old woman is dead after a shooting in Phoenix at a social club early Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Isabel Leal was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition and was later pronounced dead.

Phoenix police were called to at a social club in the area of 39th Street and University Drive shortly before 3 a.m. and discovered two people had been shot, Sgt. Tommy Thompson told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

According to police, a fight broke out in the hallway of the club. After the fight, an unknown man fired shots, striking Leal and a 24-year-old man.

The 24-year-old man suffered minor head injury. He was treated and released.

Thompson said there is not a lot of information regarding the incident and it is believed the suspect is male.
