PHOENIX — A Scottsdale-based company has launched a virtual app to help children and their families cope with high levels of stress and anxiety.

The Ninja Focus app offers meditation and mindfulness as solutions to help young kids understand their emotions as they navigate through the early stages of life.

The goal of the app is to help children create productive habits in their early years that will ideally lead to lifelong positive effects.

“Introducing kids to mindfulness early in life has an incredible value in their overall well-being and builds their capacity for compassion and resilience towards anxiety, bullying, depression, and stress,” Ninja Focus Co-Founder Kamala Alcantara told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Friday.

Ninja Focus’ digital mindfulness platform includes short meditation tracks, breathing techniques, healthy eating habits, soothing music, videos and interactive games specifically designed for children.

Alcantara is a former child educator and certified childrens’ yoga instructor who received her Master of Education in Human Development & Psychology from Harvard University.

She also provides a calming voice on many of the videos that utilize characters to guide children through the simple meditative techniques.

Due to the public health crisis, Ninja Focus is available for free download until July 1.

We want to hear from you.
