Loop 101 closures in 2 areas among this weekend’s Valley freeway restrictions

PHOENIX — Closures on the Loop 101 in two areas highlight a busy weekend of restrictions on Valley freeways, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

In Scottsdale, the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Scottsdale and Hayden roads from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday and the westbound Loop 101 will be closed between Pima and Scottsdale roads from 2 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for a freeway widening project.

In the East Valley, the southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway will be closed between the US 60 and Ray Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.

The US 60 ramps to southbound Loop 101 will be closed during that time.

Also in the East Valley, the westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be narrowed to one lane between the Loop 101 and Kyrene Road from 3 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for lane striping.

The southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound Loop 202 will also be closed.

In the West Valley, the northbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway will be closed between Lower Buckeye Road and Interstate 10 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for rubberized asphalt paving.

All northbound Loop 202 ramps to I-10 will be closed.

Also, I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes at times in both directions in the West Valley between Avondale Boulevard and Dysart Road between 8 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday for rubberized asphalt paving.

In the North Valley, Interstate 17 will be closed in both directions at Happy Valley Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for bridge work.

In north Phoenix, westbound Loop 101 will be closed between Cave Creek Road and Seventh Street from 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday for a widening project.

In central Phoenix, southbound I-17 will be closed at Seventh Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Sunday and northbound I-17 will be closed between the split interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and Seventh Avenue from 3 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for a bridge improvement project.

The southbound I-17 on-ramps at Grant Street, 19th Avenue and Seventh Avenue will be closed during that time.

In the northwest Valley, Grand Avenue/US 60 will be closed in both directions between 91st Avenue and Dysart Road from 11 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday for application of asphalt sealant.

Finally, northbound Loop 303 will be closed in the northwest Valley between Greenway and Bell roads from 10 p.m. Saturday to noon Sunday for installation of traffic slow sensors as part of a freeway technology project.
