Man arrested in connection to body found after Phoenix fire was put out

PHOENIX – An arrest has been made in connection with a body found earlier this week after a fire in a Phoenix alley was extinguished, authorities said Friday.

James Parenteau, 35, was arrested on arson, abandonment/concealment of a dead body and vehicle theft charges, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Police identified the victim as 41-year-old Mario Galindo.

Galindo’s body was discovered by fire crews early Wednesday after they put out a blaze in an alley near 27th Avenue and Thomas Road.

Police detectives and fire investigators were called to the scene.

Detectives were able to find probable cause to arrest Parenteau and book him into Maricopa County Jail on Friday.
