First responders contain fire at Amazon warehouse in Phoenix

PHOENIX – A fire broke out at the Amazon warehouse in Phoenix on Sunday, with crews able to limit the worst of the damage to an area of an upper floor.

Employees were already evacuating the fulfillment center near 50th Avenue and Buckeye Road when firefighters arrived around 4:45 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters found several plastic carts burning on the second floor and managed to put out the blaze before it spread to more inventory.

Water made its way downstairs, causing more damage. There were no estimates how much or how long repairs would take.

The warehouse is open 24/7.

Cause of the fire was under investigation.
