Chandler woman killed by gunshot, husband arrested on murder charges

PHOENIX — A 27-year-old Chandler woman died on Tuesday as a result of complications from a gunshot wound.

The victim’s husband — 30-year-old Jordan Taylor — was arrested on one count of second-degree murder, according to the Chandler Police Department.

Initial information provided by the Chandler Police Department stated that the gunshot was the result of an accidental discharge while the weapon was being cleaned.

Around 7:45 a.m., Chandler police officers were dispatched to North Metro Boulevard in response to a 911 call from a male who reported the shooting.

The victim, who was conscious when police arrived, sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper body and was transported to a local hospital.

No other information was immediately available.
