PHOENIX — After a wet week in the Valley, more rain is expected Wednesday while the high country readies for snow.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 100% chance for rain across metro Phoenix on Wednesday, with totals that could reach up to a quarter inch.

Rain chances are expected to continue into Thursday, and high temperatures will drop into the 60s as a result.

Last week, the Valley had four consecutive days of more than a quarter inch of rain, the third time that’s happened in state history and first time since 1932.

In the high country, snow is predicted Wednesday for areas above 6,000 feet and a winter storm warning has been issued.

NWS is estimating up to a foot of snow in Flagstaff while Prescott could receive a couple inches.

The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising high country travelers to leave prepared or delay travel because of the threat of snow and rain.
