Phoenix-area drivers face dense fog, rain during morning commute

PHOENIX — Phoenix-area drivers faced some adverse weather conditions Monday morning, including a dense fog advisory through 9 a.m.

The National Weather Service recommended drivers slow down, avoid using high-beam lights, leave plenty of distance between vehicles and follow the lines on the road.

According to ABC15, visibility was down to just a half mile at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Chris Kuhlman with the weather service’s Phoenix bureau told KTAR News 92.3 FM the rest of the week won’t be like this, though.

“There might be a few, isolated showers here and there today and maybe even through tomorrow afternoon, but by and large, it’s going to be not too wet,” he said.

“Thereafter, it’s going to dry out. We’ll see a lot more sun for the majority of the week, and then we’ll start to warm up by Thursday or Friday.”

High temperatures were expected to peak in the high 60s through Wednesday, with Thursday expected to reach 71 degrees.
