Friends of convicted Arizona killer Jodi Arias in spotlight on new show

PHOENIX – Friends of notorious Arizona convicted murderer Jodi Arias and the man she killed will tell their stories this weekend in a new TV show.

The Reelz network will premiere “Jodi Arias: The Friends Speak” on Sunday at 6 p.m. Arizona time, with a repeat showing at 9 p.m. It’s also scheduled to air Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The show is the first installment of a four-episode series modeled off “Casey Anthony: Her Friends Speak,” the channel’s top-rated original show in 2018, according to Deadline.

Jodi Arias was found guilty of killing her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, back in 2008. The murder shocked and confused the public. How could this beautiful, intelligent, well-spoken woman brutally stab her ex-boyfriend multiple times before blowing his head off with a .25 caliber handgun? Was Jodi Arias a sex-crazed stalker with murderous intent? Or was Jodi the victim of abuse at the hands of a controlling boyfriend? Her friends set the record straight.

In preview clips, friends of Alexander describe their reaction when they learned he’d been stabbed multiple times and shot in the head at his Mesa home.

A judge gave Arias, now 39, a life sentence in 2015, two years after a jury convicted her of first-degree murder.

Her appeal is still making its way through Arizona’s courts four years after it was filed.
