PHOENIX — The FBI and Tempe Police Department have identified a suspect in the theft of an armored car that occurred over the weekend.

Edwin “Johnny” Jobany Villa, 23, is wanted on four charges, including two felony theft charges, conspiracy to commit theft and unlawful use of means of transportation.

In a press release, the FBI said it suspects Villa stole a Brinks truck from outside the Costco near Elliott Road and Priest Drive at about noon on Sunday.

The truck was later located behind a business about a block away with money missing and nobody operating it, according to the FBI.

Villa is a 5-foot-9, 132-pound Hispanic male with brown hair, brown eyes and a tattoo under his wrist.

Anyone with information about the theft or Villa’s whereabouts is asked to call the FBI at 623-466-1999 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377).

Brinks is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the capture of Villa.
