1-year-old in critical condition after being pulled from Phoenix pool

PHOENIX — A 1-year-old was in critical condition Tuesday after being pulled from a backyard pool in Phoenix.

Capt. Rob McDade with the Phoenix Fire Department said crews were dispatched to a home near Maryland and 31st avenues.

They found family members on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, who was instructing them how to perform CPR on the child.

Firefighters initiated life-saving measures and took the child to the hospital.

No other information was immediately available.
