West Valley Mexican restaurant offers 99-cent tacos for grand opening

PHOENIX – Did somebody say 99-cent tacos?

A Mexican restaurant that features Tijuana-style tacos is opening its third West Valley location this weekend with food and drink specials.

Tacos Calafia is set to debut Saturday in the shopping plaza on the southeast corner of McDowell Road and 99th Avenue in Tolleson.

The restaurant will be open that day from noon until 11 p.m. and offer street tacos with carne asada, al pastor, chicken, cabeza or nopales for 99 cents each.

Customers can enjoy 2-for-1 margaritas and $3 Mexican beers, as well.

The grand opening festivities also will include live mariachi music and a DJ.

Tacos Calafia’s other locations are at Thunderbird Road and 83rd Avenue in Peoria and on Litchfield Road north of Bell Road in Surprise.
