Woman accused of stealing Phoenix ambulance, crashing into fence

PHOENIX — Phoenix police said a woman stole an ambulance and crashed it into a chain-link fence early Wednesday morning.

Kimberly Vasich, 29, allegedly climbed a fence at the Phoenix Fire Station near Pierce Street and 15th Avenue and drove away in the ambulance around 1 a.m.

Police said she failed to stop for officers and hit a fence near Jefferson Street and Ninth Avenue.

Vasich was booked into jail for criminal trespass, burglary and theft of a means of transportation.

Police said no one was injured.
