MCSO says body recovered from canal in Tolleson

PHOENIX — A body was recovered early Sunday morning in a canal close to 83rd Avenue and Van Buren Street, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Phoenix, Avondale and Tolleson Fire departments were the first to arrive on the scene of a water rescue call at approximently 6 a.m.

The cause of the incident is currently unknown.
