Woman dies following multi-vehicle accident in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A 25-year-old woman has died Monday following a multi-vehicle accident in Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Denise Cruz was pronounced dead at a local hospital after her Dodge Caravan failed to stop at a stop sign at 19th Avenue and Pima Street and collided with a dump truck.

Cruz’s passenger, a 1-year-old girl, was taken to a hospital and her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Four other vehicles were involved in the collision and the drivers of those vehicles sustained only minor injuries.

Police said impairment does not appear to be a factor and that the investigation is ongoing.

No other information was immediately available.
