Arizona teen charged with making threats against high school

PHOENIX – Police in a northern Arizona town arrested a teenage boy this week, accused of threatening to “shoot up the class” and the teacher.

The 15-year-old gave his warning Monday at Prescott Valley’s Bradshaw Mountain High School.

The Prescott Valley Police Department said the teen was booked into the Yavapai County Juvenile Detention facility on suspicion of one count each of making a terrorist threat and threatening and intimidating.

It was the second arrest in just a few weeks of a Prescott Valley student accused of making threats against his school.

In late April, a 12-year-old boy was taken into custody for allegedly saying he would shoot up Granville Elementary School.

Neither boy has been identified because they are minors.

Officials with the Humboldt Unified School District, which oversees both schools, said they take seriously all threats against students or school staff.
