Rain expected to break up dry spell in Phoenix on Tuesday night

PHOENIX — Rain showers are expected to hit Phoenix on Tuesday night, breaking up a more than monthlong dry spell.

According to the National Weather Service on Monday, Phoenix was days away from hitting its longest streak without rainfall since one last fall lasting 36 days.

The Valley’s highest likelihood of rain comes Tuesday around 7 p.m. with a 75% chance, according to ABC15 Arizona.

Those chances are even higher for northeastern parts of the state, with a slight possibility of thunderstorms.

The rain could last through Wednesday morning, with temperatures dropping as low as the upper 50s.

After almost reaching 100 degrees last week, the Valley will see cooler temperatures this week with a high of 79 degrees Tuesday and 81 degrees Wednesday.

By Thursday, temperatures are expected to climb back into the 90s.
