Tempe Festival of the Arts to showcase 350 artists this weekend

PHOENIX — Nearly 350 artists will fill the downtown Mill Avenue area for this weekend’s Tempe Festival of the Arts.

The festival will run Friday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The event is expected to draw 225,000 visitors to peruse artists’ booths, eat and drink at the food trucks and listen to live local music.

There will also be street performances, face painting, crafts for kids and an interactive exhibit called the Portal, which allows festivalgoers to video chat with people from all over the world.

Arizona-based Karolina Adams, who specializes in ink and graphite, will be the featured artist.

Festival booths will be located along Mill Avenue from Third Street to University Drive and extend onto Fourth through Seventh streets.

The festival is free, but those 21 and older can buy tickets for wine and spirit tasting online.
