PHOENIX — The Arizona Charter Schools Association named Jake Logan as its new president and CEO, the organization announced Thursday.

“On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, we are excited to have Jake lead our organization,” Jay Heiler, chairman of the association’s board of directors, said in a press release.

“His years of experience, both in public policy and as a member of the Arizona State Board for Charter schools — combined with his strong leadership skills — make him an ideal leader for our organization.”

The nonprofit organization is the state’s leading charter support organization with more than 550 public charter schools that serve nearly 200,000 students statewide, according to the release.

Logan replaced Eileen Sigmund, who resigned last fall.

He previously served as an appointed member of the Arizona Board for Charter Schools, including a period as president.

Logan also served as a senior adviser and director of external affairs for the Arizona House of Representatives.

Most recently, Logan served as regional vice president for UnitedHealth Group.

He was also regional director and campaign manager for former U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl.

“I am honored to be part of the Arizona Charter Schools Association and look forward to working with policymakers and stakeholders to further advance K-12 education in Arizona,” Logan said in the release.

“Thanks to the efforts of a lot of people over many years, Arizona has a world class charter school system, and I look forward to continuing that trajectory.”

We want to hear from you.
