PHOENIX — An Uber Eats driver was injured Tuesday night after three suspects confronted him before stealing his car, according to Phoenix police.

Police arrested two suspects — Nehemiah Gee, 18, and a 13-year-old female. A third suspect, 19-year-old Rashad Griffis, was arrested on Feb. 22.

Police said the driver was at a restaurant near Baseline Road and 24th Street to pick up an order when two men and one woman demanded his vehicle at gunpoint.

There was a physical altercation that resulted in serious injuries for the victim that were not life threatening, police said.

The suspects stole the vehicle and fled the scene.

Police said the investigation was ongoing, and anyone with information could contact them by calling 480-WITNESS.

“What the driver experienced is disturbing,” An Uber spokesperson said in a statement. “We stand ready to work with police on the investigation.”

Two other drivers working for ride share companies were attacked in separate incidents in the Valley over the past two weeks.

A man was arrested for allegedly slitting an Uber driver’s throat in Tolleson on Wednesday night.

A pregnant woman was stabbed to death last week in Tempe while working as a Lyft driver.
