Fourth annual Doggie Street Festival to take place Saturday in Phoenix

PHOENIX — The annual Doggie Street Festival is back in the Valley for its fourth installment.

This year’s edition will be held on Saturday at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix.

The festivities will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free.

The event is the “west’s largest adopt-a-thon and pet celebration,” according to its website.

It is also a platform for veterinarians and pet professionals to educate pet owners about neutering, training, nutrition and overall pet care.

Doggie Street Festival is both pet and kid friendly and festivities include music, food, pet products and services, a kids art area, contests, auction prizes, a VIP lounge and more.

Originated in San Diego 10 years ago, the festival has since expanded to Los Angeles as well, making Phoenix the only location outside of southern California.

Its mission is to end pet homelessness by adding to the hundreds of dogs and cats that have already been adopted at the yearly festivals.

Saturday will be the organization’s first festival of 2019 for man’s best friend.
