Fiery wreck shuts down part of I-10 in southeastern Arizona

PHOENIX – A fatal, fiery multivehicle wreck early Tuesday shut down a 5-mile stretch of Interstate 10 in Arizona near the New Mexico border.

At least one person was killed in the accident, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said the westbound I-10 between mileposts 383 and 378 reopened around 3 p.m. It was closed for approximately nine hours.

San Simon is 102 miles east of Tucson.
