PHOENIX — An inmate in a Tucson prison was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday for threatening Barack Obama and Loretta Lynch.

Roger Dale Godwin, 40, wrote several letters in 2016 that threatened to injure or kill then-President Obama and then-U.S. Attorney General Lynch as well as a prison employee.

At the time, he was already incarcerated for mailing threats to judges and police as an inmate in a Wisconsin prison, and he will serve his latest sentence consecutive to his 2014 sentence.

Godwin pleaded guilty to his latest round of threats, and his four-year term will be followed by three years of supervised release.
