Mesa announces plans for $200M multi-use senior living campus

PHOENIX — The city of Mesa announced plans last week for a $200 million multi-use medical and senior living campus.

The 20-acre project is called GrandeVita, a BioCity Enterprise by Khangura Development, and will be located at Crimson Road and Hampton Avenue.

A city press release said the center “will allow seniors to ‘age in place’ in a high tech and innovative environment.”

The first project on the campus, a 127-room Residence Inn by Marriott, will open in January.

The city estimates that once the entire campus is completed, it will create more than 300 jobs.

The 700,000-square-foot campus will also include medical offices, restaurants, a nursing school, a rehab clinic, assisted living facilities and luxury condos.

“There is substantial demand for a high-end, assisted living community like GrandeVita,” Kelly Copeland, COO of BioCity Enterprises, said in the release.

“Khangura Development and BioCity Enterprises are excited to build a property that will revolutionize the current model this kind of facility. It will be unrivaled when it’s completed.”
