Former Maricopa County deputy arrested for allegedly molesting girls

PHOENIX – A former deputy with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was arrested this week for allegedly molesting two girls multiple times, authorities announced Thursday.

Kirk Meisner, 62, of Waddell was apprehended Wednesday by the MCSO’s Fugitive Apprehension Tactical Enforcement team after an investigation of more than a year.

Last week, a grand jury warrant was issued for Meisner’s arrest on six charges related to sexual abuse of children.

“It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from or what your background is; if you commit a crime, we are going to hold you accountable,” Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone told KTAR News 92.3 FM.

“Unfortunately in this circumstance, this person was a former employee.”

Meisner retired from the MCSO in 2001, the agency said.

An investigation into Meisner’s activities began in June 2017 after a 911 caller alleged that he’d inappropriately touched two girls on multiple occasions.

The victims’ parents told investigators they’d confronted Meisner about the allegations and his response included incriminating statements.

Meisner refused to speak to detectives working the case.

The MCSO said there are no other known victims at this time.
