Wreck on Loop 101 in Tempe slows down morning traffic

PHOENIX — Crashes in both directions on Loop 101 in Tempe jammed up the road and caused delays during Thursday’s morning rush.

A wreck in southbound lanes near Southern Avenue stretched across most of the freeway, but traffic was making its way around the mess using the shoulder of the road.

First responders were at the scene shortly before 8 a.m.

The crash in the north lanes did not last long.
