Wreck brings westbound US 60 in Tempe to standstill

PHOENIX — A dump truck and a car collided on a freeway in Tempe early Tuesday, causing chain-reaction wrecks and blocking traffic for several exits.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the 5:30 a.m. accident on westbound U.S. 60 near Priest Drive was backing up drivers at least three exits to McClintock Drive.

Two lanes were closed and the dump truck was taking up part of the HOV lane.

🚨🚨🚨Traffic is stopped back to McClintock. Several other collisions are occurring in the area as well as one on the eastbound side. Consider the 101 and 202. https://t.co/60c6nAPV79
