Camelback Mountain hiker dies after falling ‘significant distance’
A 54-year-old Camelback hiker from out of town went missing Thursday afternoon. His body was recovered on Friday evening.

PHOENIX — The body of a man hiking Camelback Mountain who had been missing since Thursday was found on Friday evening.
A little after 5 p.m., the body of a 54-year-old was found, the Phoenix Fire Department said.
He was later identified as 54-year-old Marc Daus.
The hiker was believed to have been visiting Phoenix from out of town and began his hike at 10 a.m.
He was last heard from around noon Thursday.
The fire department said the hiker “appeared to have fallen a significant distance and as a result, suffered fatal injuries.”
