We’ll drink to that: American Craft Beer Week to celebrate local breweries

PHOENIX — The 13th annual American Craft Beer Week kicks off on Monday, giving beer lovers across the nation the chance to celebrate their favorite small and independent craft breweries.
Andy Sparhawk with the Brewers Association told KTAR News 92.3 FM that the week is all about toasting to those breweries across Arizona.
“It’s a nationwide celebration of small and independent brewers and how they’ve changed breweries as we know it,” he said.
The week “provides an opportunity for craft brewers to share their diversity, creativity and passion for the beverage they love,” according to its website.
From Monday until May 20, breweries, bars and restaurants alike will hold events to celebrate “America’s ever-advancing beer culture.”
There are more than 50 independent craft breweries in the Valley alone. The best way to celebrate them?
“Utilize our brewery finder, find a brewery near you and raise a pint,” Sparhawk said.
KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Ali Vetnar contributed to this report.
