Parts of US 60 in Mesa area will be restricted overnight in April

PHOENIX — Parts of a Phoenix-area freeway will be restricted overnight during several weeks in April for pavement-improvement work, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced on Monday.

The U.S. 60 east of the Loop 101 in the Mesa area will be restricted in the following areas Sunday through Thursday nights between April 2 and 17. The on- and off-ramps in those areas will also be closed as well.

The closures of the freeway will include:

• Westbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to two or three lanes overnight between Crismon Road and Country Club Drive from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday.

• Westbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to three lanes overnight between Crismon Road and Val Vista Drive from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. from April 8 to 9.

• Eastbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to three lanes overnight between Country Club Drive and Crismon Road from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. from April 10 to 12.

• Eastbound U.S. 60 will be narrowed to one to two lanes overnight between Country Club Drive and Crismon Road from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. from April 12 to 13.

The Arizona Department of Transportation are also encouraging drivers to be aware of changing restrictions and locations due to weather or other factors, including progress on the scheduled closures.

Drivers should also use caution in these areas and be prepared to slow down while the restrictions are in place.
