Westbound US 60 reopened after fatal collision in Apache Junction
The westbound lanes of U.S. 60 in Apache Junction have reopened after a fatal collision involving two vehicles closed the roadway at Ironwood Road.
PHOENIX – The westbound lanes of U.S. 60 in Apache Junction have reopened after a fatal collision involving two vehicles closed the roadway at Ironwood Road.
According to officials, there was one fatality in the collision, with two individuals in critical condition and eight that were transported to a local hospital for delayed injuries.

During the closure, westbound traffic was diverted off of the freeway at the Ironwood Road exit and re-entering at Signal Butte Road.
Slow traffic is expected in the area as the left lane remains blocked.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
