At least 11 people affected by unknown substance at Ft. Myer base

At least 11 people started feeling ill after an envelope containing an unknown substance was opened at Joint Base Myer Henderson in Arlington, Virginia, on Monday.

At least 11 people started feeling ill after an envelope containing an unknown substance was opened at Joint Base Myer Henderson in Arlington, Virginia, on Tuesday.

According to ABC News, 11 Marines were affected by the substance. Three were receiving medical treatment, but it is unclear what condition they are in.

Metropolitan Washington Airports authority Fire Department spokesperson Andrew Trull told ABC that five people were being treated.

The letter was received at Joint Base Myer’s Henderson Hall, which has since been evacuated.
