PHOENIX – The small suburb of Paradise Valley has again been ranked as the most expensive ZIP code in the Phoenix area, according to a new study.
Conducted by the American City Business Journals — the parent company of the Phoenix Business Journal — the study analyzed more than 18,000 ZIP codes in the U.S.
The study compiled a wealth index score for each zip code using the median household income, median home value and a population of 2,000 or more, among other statistics.
The Journal highlighted the results in the Phoenix area Friday, which showed Paradise Valley’s 85253 ZIP code topping the list with a score of 28.13.
Nestled between Scottsdale and Phoenix, Paradise Valley has a median household income of just under $130,000 and home value near $1.18 million.
Trailing Paradise Valley with a score of 23.52 is Scottsdale’s 85262 ZIP code which, ironically, has a slightly higher median household income but a median home value of $675,800.
Rounding out the top fove of the list are the ZIP codes 85255, 85266 and 85259, all of which can be also found in Scottsdale.
