Former Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy sells Scottsdale home

Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy had a little extra spending money in his pocket for the holidays after selling his Scottsdale home.

PHOENIX — Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy had a little extra spending money in his pocket for the holidays after reportedly selling his Scottsdale home.

The Los Angeles Times reported the home near 64th Street and Cactus Road fetched a sale price just north of $1.7 million last month.

According to the listing, the home has six bedrooms and six bathrooms in slightly more than 6,300 square feet.

The Spanish-style abode is located inside the Equestrian Manor, a gated community.

The home is far from original. About 3,000 square feet was added in 2000 and it was given a $500,000 renovation just four years ago, which just so happened to be Kennedy’s final year with the D-backs.

In addition to plenty of room, the home has saltillo tiles, vaulted ceilings with beams and plenty of wood finishes.

The kitchen has Sub-Zero appliances, quartzite countertops and an adjoining room with a fireplace, just in case the chef would like to warm his or her hands — or just take a break. We’re not judging!

The backyard has a 160-degree wraparound patio that leads to a heated pool, grassy play area and plenty of outdoor seating.

Of course, what home would be complete without a four-car garage with tons of storage and an epoxied floor?

Kennedy spent four years in Arizona and, at one point, was the team’s ace. He was traded to the San Diego Padres in 2013 and signed with the Kansas City Royals three years later.
