PHOENIX – If you are ever in the mood for a Prohibition-era experience while out on the town, look no further than The Duce in Phoenix.
Msn.com recently named the coolest themed bar in every state, and for Phoenix, the Duce got to take home that title.
Along with a jazz-themed bar, the downtown Phoenix destination features a 1915 Chicago drugstore soda fountain and bleachers from the local St. Mary’s High School where patrons can watch ping pong, cornhole and other games.
Additionally, The Duce features an old boxing ring, which is shown taking the place of a dance floor on the bar’s website.
On the corner of Lincoln and Central in the heart of downtown Phoenix, the building for which The Duce now occupies was once a produce warehouse. Now, according to The Duce website, it is a location where “prohibition meets produce.”
The Duce is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., closing for three hours before opening again from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.
On Friday and Saturday, it is open from 11 a.m.- 2 a.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
