PHOENIX — Are you an East Valley clothing aficionado?

Next year, you might not have to travel so far to get your fashionable duds.

Seattle-based Nordstrom Rack has announced in a press release that it planned to build a new location at Gilbert’s SanTan Village.

The release said the 25,000-square-foot store will be built on the corner of Williams Field Road and SanTan Village Parkway. The store is set to open in the fall of 2018.

“Gilbert is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Phoenix and we are looking forward to serving Gilbert customers with the great brands they love at great prices,” said Karen McKibbin, president of Nordstrom Rack.

Norstrom Rack will be among stores such as Apple, Barnes & Noble and Dick’s Sporting Goods in a retail hub that already features about 1-million square feet of retail shopping space.

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Norstrom Inc., which offers customers a selection of clothing options with up to 70 percent off regular retail prices.

The Gilbert store will be the company’s sixth location in the Phoenix area.
