Phoenix-area food bank’s truck stolen on Thanksgiving Day

PHOENIX — A Phoenix-area food bank was scrambling to keep to its driving schedule Monday after its delivery truck was stolen on Thanksgiving Day.

“It’s a big loss for us,” Valley View Community Food Bank director Jesse Ramirez told Fox 10 News Sunday.

He said he went to work Friday at the El Mirage site to find the pickup truck gone. The keys to the vehicle, which had been parked in the lot in front of the building on Grand Avenue near Acoma Drive, were in the office.

The food bank used the 2003 Chevy to pick up donations from small grocery stores, neighborhoods and to deliver food, as well.

Ramirez set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses for buying a replacement truck.
