With the 16th anniversary of Sept. 11 coming Monday, Arizona Sen. John McCain recounted where he was on one of the most tragic days in American history.

McCain tells the story of how he was sitting in his office at the Russell Senate Office Building watching cable news on his television when the “startling bit of information came across.”

He then remembers the alarm going off in the United States Capitol, as McCain notes it was fairly obvious there could be an attack coming on that building as well.

He credits the brave people on that flight that possibly prevented the Capitol Building from being hit.

McCain ends the video by saying that America will never forget and they will always mourn the people who lost their lives. He also remembers how proud he was to see his country come together in the troubling time.
