PHOENIX — Police said a reward up to $5,000 was being offered in the case of a 15-year-old boy who was severely injured after a collision on an Arizona lake.

There’s also a separate $1,000 reward being offered from Silent Witness.

On Aug. 5, a teenager was driving a jet ski on Bartlett Lake when he was involved in a collision with a fishing-style boat, approximately 18 feet in length. Even though he sustained life-threatening injuries, the operators of the fishing boat did not remain at the scene of the crash, according to a report sent from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the boat’s two operators was described as a 30-year-old white male with a stocky build, a brown buzz cut and a goatee. He’s believed to be about 5-foot-7 and 190 pounds with a belly.

The other operator was described as a white female in her mid-to-late 20s with a medium build and long, dark hair.

The boat’s make and model weren’t known. It had a light gray lower half with a dark upper half. It had one windshield on the driver’s side and a white canopy top. There’s likely damage on the front passenger side.
